| Kelly L. McKerahan, D.O. | A native of Columbus, Ohio, Dr. McKerahan graduated from Marietta College in 1985 with a B.S. in Biology. In 1987 he completed a Master's degree in Microbiology from Ohio University, and in 1992 graduated from Osteopathic Medical School from Ohio University, with honors. Upon graduation, Dr. McKerahan completed a one-year internship at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Next, he completed a two-year family practice residency at the Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, graduating in 1995 with honors. People often ask "what is a D.O.?" A concise answer is that D.O.'s are fully trained in American schools to practice all aspects of medicine from anesthesia to cardiology, oncology, OB/GYN, surgery, etc. However, our training emphasis is on primary care, so many D.O.'s choose family practice, pediatrics or internal medicine. We also have training in manipulative techniques similar to chiropractic, and an emphasis on wellness and the body' s intrinsic ability to heal itself. |
